Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, LLC has been successfully operating in
Huntington, Indiana for a quarter of a century. Through those years both City and
County officials, as well as the Huntington County Economic Development
(HCUED) organization, have been a vital resource to assist Bendix in achieving
our growth objectives.
Huntington is a dynamic, pro-business community offering a great location, a
cooperative environment, and an ethical, hard working employment base. The
community is populated with citizens that volunteer countless hours toward
programs targeted at improving an already good quality of life. Public services —
be it the Major’s office, Fire department, Sheriff’s office or Police department —
are consistently carried out in a professional, helpful, and positive manner. The
infrastructure to support manufacturing and distribution operations like ours is
both reliable and robust.
HCUED has been instrumental in assisting Bendix in planning and executing our
growth strategies in Huntington County. The organization is professional, timely,
focused and willing to go beyond common expectations to provide us with the
service, information, and contacts that help assure the success of the initiatives.
From the early planning stages to the culmination of construction, HCUED has
worked diligently with Bendix professionals from across North America, to supply
the right information and at the right time. Their help has allowed us to more
effectively evaluate a full gamut of possible growth scenarios and procure
properties in Huntington County that fit into our overall facility strategy.
HCUED has also been helpful in providing efficient near-term solutions for our
business. When significant growth created the need of temporary storage space, HCUED immediately presented Bendix with several workable options, along with
necessary contact information, to help address our need. They have been
relentless in assuring that we are fully aware of potential state assistance
programs and their applicability for our business. Their assistance most recently
resulted in an award of a sizeable training grant enabling us to reinvest in our
workforce.
